What you will do

• Shape product development through code, design decisions, technical direction, and mentorship.
• Build and optimize full-stack features, leaning heavily into backend data systems or frontend product engineering.
• Integrate AI/LLM capabilities like context window management, tool orchestration, and sandboxed execution.
• Work with data platforms, APIs, custom datasets, benchmarks, and visualization infrastructure.
• Collaborate across cycles, emphasizing communication and using AI tooling for development.

Requirements

• 5+ years as a proven engineer shipping impactful work across systems and domains
• Full-stack experience with depth in backend data systems or frontend engineering
• Strong problem-solving, communication, customer empathy, curiosity, and humility
• Experience with TypeScript/Java/Python/SQL, PostgreSQL/DuckDB/Databricks, AWS, React
• AI/LLM knowledge: OpenAI/Anthropic, LangChain, Pydantic
• Auckland-based for hybrid work
