HR Business Partner

TL;DR

HR Business Partner (Game Dev): Supporting managers and game teams across Czech studios in everyday HR challenges with an accent on relationship building, performance management, and team development. Focus on taking ownership of teams, solving leadership issues, and driving HR processes like recruitment, onboarding, and compensation reviews.

Location: Prague office (onsite), connecting in person and virtually with teams in Mníšek, Brno, and Prague. Strong English B2+ required due to international team across Czech Republic, Netherlands, and Thailand.

Leading independent game development company in the Czech Republic with over 25 years in the industry, operating studios in Prague, Brno, and international presence.

What you will do

• Take ownership of several game teams across Czech studios, connecting in person and virtually with technical and creative roles.
• Support managers and employees in solving everyday challenges, focusing on team performance and leadership growth.
• Collaborate with leadership on recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, compensation, and team development.
• Maintain HR systems including internal HR system, Confluence, and JIRA for accurate data.
• Contribute to internal HR projects on performance management, promotions, and manager development.
• Occasionally support recruitment for key creative and technical roles and collaborate with Operations, IT, and Finance.

Requirements

• Strong English speaker at B2 level or above — essential for international team of 30+ nationalities across 3 countries.
• Solid HR experience (min. 3 years) including HR Business Partnering, learning & development, supporting managers and employees.
• Well-versed in Czech Labour Law and ability to apply it in practice.
• Self-driven with experience building relationships, handling difficult conversations, and cross-team collaboration.
• Energy, enthusiasm, proactive, empathetic personality who thrives in fast-paced environment with ad-hoc tasks.
• True partner to leadership, not afraid to speak mind and tackle ambitious challenges.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in an IT environment.
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence).
