Site Reliability Engineer (IDP)

TL;DR

Site Reliability Engineer (IDP): Ensuring reliability, availability, scalability, and performance of critical applications and services with an accent on monitoring, alerting, automation, and operational excellence. Focus on defining SLIs/SLOs, incident response, chaos engineering, and integrating observability across production systems.

Location: All candidates must be located in Portugal. Hybrid working style with office in Coimbra and plans to open offices in Aveiro and Porto.

What you will do

• Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and optimization for critical applications and services.
• Define and maintain SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and reliability standards.
• Partner with development, platform, and DevOps teams to improve performance, resilience, and self-service capabilities.
• Automate deployments, rollbacks, scaling, CI/CD pipelines, and operational tasks.
• Build observability with metrics, logs, traces, dashboards; respond to incidents and conduct root cause analysis.
• Run chaos engineering, fire drills, capacity planning, and production readiness reviews.

Requirements

• Must be located in Portugal.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Proven SRE, Platform Engineering, or DevOps experience with operational ownership.
• Expertise in monitoring, observability, incident response, SLIs/SLOs, error budgets.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible; cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of CI/CD, IaC, Docker, Kubernetes; strong problem-solving and communication skills.
