What you will do

• Lead day-to-day customer interactions in Japan and build trusted relationships with product and engineering stakeholders.
• Bridge communication and time-zone gaps between Japan and global teams to ensure accurate information flow.
• Drive local development efforts and partner with global engineering to scope and ship critical features.
• Set the technical and product direction for the Japan-based team as the customer base scales.
• Translate customer feedback and market context into actionable product requirements and roadmap input.
• Own end-to-end issue triage and represent the company in technical reviews and on-site visits.

Requirements

• Strong technical background in engineering, computer science, robotics, or automotive.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese.
• Proven track record in product management, technical program management, or customer-facing technical roles.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams across different geographies.
• Must be based in Tokyo or Yokohama, Japan for a hybrid work arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience in automotive, ADAS, or autonomous driving domains.
• Prior experience working with Japanese OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
• Background working across global teams (Japan ↔ Europe/US) in a startup or scale-up environment.
