What you will do

• Own end-to-end QA for Shopify Plus storefronts, Hydrogen proxy backends, and custom extensions.
• Define "ready to merge" criteria, pretest workflows, and bug severity taxonomies.
• Implement synthetic monitoring via Checkly for critical storefront paths and run post-deploy smoke tests.
• Validate complex Recurly subscription edge cases and international shipping, tax, and currency flows.
• Lead root cause analysis and blameless postmortems for production incidents.
• Collaborate with PM and CRO leads to safeguard A/B experimentation using GrowthBook.

Requirements

• 5+ years in QA/SDET roles, ideally within DTC e-commerce or consumer tech.
• Experience with Shopify Plus, including themes, Theme App Extensions, Checkout UI Extensions, and Shopify Functions.
• Hands-on automation expertise in Playwright or Cypress with fluent TypeScript.
• Production experience with pixel and analytics testing (e.g., Mixpanel, GA4).
• Strong grip on CI pipelines (GitHub Actions) and Agile/2-week sprint methodology.
• Ability to read Liquid, React, and basic GraphQL code.

Nice to have

• Experience building a release-gate process from zero.
• Knowledge of visual regression tools like Percy or Chromatic.
• Experience with GrowthBook or LaunchDarkly experiment lifecycles.
• Testing experience with Hydrogen, Remix, or Node services.
• Background in subscription-commerce platforms (Recurly, Recharge, Bold, etc.).
