Programmer (World of Warships, PC) (Gamedev)

TL;DR

Programmer (World of Warships, PC): Build and maintain backend services for high-end meta features including clan gameplay, commerce, and core technologies with an accent on reliability, scalability, and integration with game client and server. Focus on designing meta-gameplay features, improving web services under high load, and working with legacy systems.

Location: Hybrid (3 days in office in Belgrade, Serbia). This role isn't eligible for relocation & immigration support.

What you will do

• Build and maintain backend services in Python and Go (mostly Python 3.10+).
• Work across full development lifecycle from architecture and design to deployment and monitoring.
• Improve reliability and scalability of World of Warships web services through cross-team initiatives.
• Design and implement meta-gameplay features.
• Work with Game Client and Game Server (occasionally Python 2).

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with Python.
• Solid understanding of Python for web service development.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Understanding of maintaining web services in production.
• Understanding of microservice architecture and service communication.
• Ability to work with legacy systems.

Nice to have

• Golang knowledge or full-stack experience.
• Experience developing high-load services.
• Hands-on with FastAPI, Django, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD.
• Linux basics, bash scripts, makefiles.
