Senior Director, Sound

What you will do

• Set the global creative vision, strategy, and quality standards for sound, dialogue, and talent casting across PlayStation Studios.
• Partner with studio, audio, technology, and executive leadership to align sound direction with creative and strategic goals.
• Guide audio implementation pipelines, authoring tools, recording standards, and production workflows.
• Lead research, development, and innovation initiatives with internal teams, hardware partners, recording studios, and external vendors.
• Plan global resources, staffing, budgets, schedules, headcount allocation, and succession strategies for the sound organization.
• Build collaboration, mentorship, performance management, and knowledge sharing across global sound teams.

Requirements

• 15+ years of audio leadership experience in AAA game development.
• At least six shipped AAA games in a senior sound leadership role.
• Deep expertise in interactive audio, post-production, and advanced authoring tools such as Wwise, FMOD, or proprietary engines.
• Experience managing, mentoring, and inspiring high-performing sound teams.
• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary game development workflows, including animation, level design, AI, physics, and mechanics.
• Exceptional executive communication, presentation, organizational leadership, and strategic planning skills.
