TL;DR
Team Lead Animator (iGaming): Lead creative and technical aspects of 2D animation production for slot games with an accent on Spine tool usage, character and pseudo-3D object animation, and VFX optimization. Focus on driving animation design, setting project direction based on specifications and feedback, and streamlining production with generative tools.
Location: Remote (EU, Central European Timezone +/- 2 hours). Permanent employment in Malta or freelance basis for other countries.

What you will do
- Lead the in-house animation team to deliver creative and technically high-quality 2D animations.
- Drive and own animation design and implementation, setting clear direction per game specs and stakeholder feedback.
- Participate in production milestones, estimate efforts with Project Managers, and manage resources.
- Apply Spine tool expertise to create and optimize 2D animations.
- Oversee outsourced animation delivery, create reception standards for third-party studios.
- Explore generative tools to elevate animation quality and streamline production.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience as a game animator, ideally in gaming or iGaming.
- Proficiency in English for effective team communication.
- Strong knowledge of Spine, After Effects, and Photoshop.
- Proven experience in high-quality character animation, pseudo-3D objects, and VFX under optimization constraints.
- Strong portfolio showcasing animation skills, creativity, and versatility.
- Passion for gaming, player experience understanding, adaptability in fast-paced environment, feedback skills, and problem-solving.
