What you will do

• Lead the design, performance, and reliability of cloud-based, application-facing databases.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to build scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient database solutions.
• Guide best practices for database design, schema changes, and performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, leading root cause analysis.
• Implement standards, guardrails, and automation to improve database operations.
• Mentor team members and support knowledge sharing across engineering and database communities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience working with application databases or in DBA roles, including cloud environments.
• Strong expertise in at least one relational database platform (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
• Hands-on experience with cloud-managed database services and modern architectures.
• Advanced skills in SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting production systems and making sound technical decisions independently.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for working across diverse teams.
