Anesthesia Doctor - Alkufra

TL;DR

Anesthesia Doctor (Alkufra): Deliver anesthesia services for surgical, obstetric, and emergency procedures in remote Libyan health facilities with an accent on preoperative evaluation, intraoperative management, and postoperative monitoring. Focus on emergency resuscitation, airway management, pain interventions, and adherence to patient safety and infection prevention protocols.

Location: Onsite at GUN OBO Centre in Al Kufra / Sabha, Libya

What you will do

• Provide safe anesthesia care during procedures, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative management, and postoperative monitoring.
• Support emergency and critical care, including resuscitation, airway management, and stabilization of trauma patients.
• Implement pain management for surgical and non-surgical patients using appropriate techniques.
• Maintain documentation of procedures, patient records, and drug usage per standards.
• Monitor and maintain anesthesia equipment, drugs, and supplies, reporting issues.
• Coordinate with surgical teams, nurses, MOH staff, and referrals for continuity of care.
• Participate in audits, quality improvement, and training of healthcare staff.

Requirements

• Medical Doctor (MD) with specialization/training in Anesthesia (Anesthesiology) and valid license to practice.
• Proven experience in anesthesia practice: preoperative assessment, intraoperative management, postoperative care, pain management.
• Experience in emergency/critical care (airway management, resuscitation, trauma) highly desirable.
• Knowledge of patient safety, IPC, rational use of drugs/supplies.
• Proficiency in Arabic required; working knowledge of English advantageous.
• Good computer skills (MS Office) for records and reports; ability to work in multi-cultural environment.
