Integration & Test Engineer (Spacecraft)

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States. The role involves regular work at factories, test facilities, launch sites, payload-processing facilities, and on-orbit operations. Access to ITAR-controlled information requires U.S. Person status or eligibility for a federally issued export control license.

Salary: $100,000–$140,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Define spacecraft checkout test plans, procedures, and pass/fail criteria with design and systems engineers.
• Operate spacecraft during factory, environmental, launch-site, pre-launch, and on-orbit activities by interpreting telemetry and sending commands.
• Investigate vehicle issues, troubleshoot failures, and drive corrective actions.
• Lead and organize vehicle integration and operations activities, including environmental test campaigns.
• Own HITL table configuration and rack build-out, and create harness drawings for ground support equipment.
• Support the transition from manual vehicle operations toward automated activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, aerospace, mechanical, computer, or another engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in integration, test, or automation engineering, including internships and relevant design/build/compete projects.
• Experience testing and troubleshooting spacecraft components and systems, including subsystem checkouts and system acceptance testing.
• Experience with environmental testing such as thermal vacuum or random vibration, and with clean-room and ESD-sensitive equipment.
• Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, and digital multimeters.
• Hands-on experience with HITL or Flatsat software verification testbeds, plus strong conflict-resolution and negotiation skills.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Python and/or Rust.
• Experience with Linux systems.
• Experience managing contractual interfaces with customers or launch-vehicle providers.
