TL;DR

Bus Vehicle Lead (Aerospace): Leading the development and integration of high-power satellite buses for missions from LEO to deep space with an accent on program leadership and vehicle design. Focus on driving engineering flight readiness, managing technical trades, and ensuring mission success under aggressive timelines.

Location: Los Angeles, CA. Candidate must be a U.S. Person (ITAR compliant).

Salary: $125,000 - $185,000 + equity

What you will do

  • Develop and manage engineering schedules, vehicle design, critical performance trades, and resource allocation.
  • Define bus-level milestones and long-term objectives in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Drive engineering and flight readiness activities to meet mission and contract commitments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess vehicle readiness and mitigate technical risks.
  • Engage with customers to ensure technical compliance and successful mission integration.
  • Establish and improve engineering processes and analysis frameworks to support company growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in technical aerospace or manufacturing.
  • 2+ years of experience managing projects, technical trades, and/or technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of launch vehicles, spacecraft, or other aerospace systems.
  • Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by ITAR regulations.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or PhD in an engineering or science discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience in technical aerospace or manufacturing.
  • Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience leading spacecraft mission design, integration, test, and launch across multiple departments.
  • Proven track record of project ownership and successful execution outcomes.
