What you will do

• Build, operate, and maintain secure, scalable systems within physical datacentres.
• Manage and troubleshoot a FreeBSD-based server platform and Java-based application platforms.
• Design and maintain network infrastructure, including BGP and OSPF routing, GRE tunnels, and VPNs (IPSec, WireGuard).
• Perform hardware installation and maintenance in datacentres and shared facilities.
• Collaborate with security teams on vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
• Improve configuration management, package building, and deployment mechanisms.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in a Systems Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, or Network Administrator role.
• Expertise in complex network architectures, including BGP, OSPF, and FreeBSD-based firewalls.
• Proficiency in packet capture analysis using tools such as Wireshark or termshark.
• Solid experience working in on-prem or hybrid datacentre environments.
• Strong knowledge of FreeBSD, ZFS, FreeBSD jails, and MariaDB (Galera clusters).
• Must be based in or be able to work from Oslo, Norway to handle physical hardware maintenance.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Tomcat and Java servlet environments.
• Fundamental understanding of security concepts and practical knowledge of cryptography.
