TL;DR

Frontend Engineer (React): Modernizing user interfaces of 20+ SaaS products from legacy server-rendered stacks to React with an accent on incremental migration and AI-augmented development. Focus on replacing live production UIs using the strangler pattern, integrating with decoupled APIs, and implementing rigorous testing for stability.

Location: Hybrid: Austin, TX (2–3 days in office). Must have unrestricted US work authorization; no sponsorship provided.

What you will do

  • Incrementally replace server-rendered UIs with modern React components using the strangler pattern.
  • Convert Figma designs into production-ready components utilizing AI coding tools for accelerated implementation.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to decouple legacy APIs to enable frontend modernization.
  • Ensure system stability via feature flags, unit tests, and visual regression testing.
  • Perform performance benchmarking to validate measurable improvements post-modernization.
  • Work cross-functionally with designers and product managers on scope, priority, and handoffs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a frontend engineer.
  • Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Hands-on experience modernizing legacy stacks such as PHP, Ruby on Rails, or .NET.
  • Proven track record of using AI coding tools to ship production code.
  • Experience with Figma handoffs and API decoupling requirements.
  • Unrestricted US work authorization (no OPT, STEM OPT, or H-1B sponsorship available).

Nice to have

  • Experience working across multiple products or within a platform engineering team.
  • Knowledge of WCAG accessibility compliance for legacy UI modernization.
  • Experience with component library development.
