Mechanics Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Act as the key mechanical designer throughout the product life cycle using CAD tools like PTC Creo and CATIA.
• Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings incorporating GD&T and industry standards.
• Conduct requirements analysis, statistical tolerance stack-up studies, and thermal and reliability evaluations.
• Collaborate with suppliers on DFM, tooling design, and moldflow for plastic, sheet metal, and die-casting parts.
• Support POC, RFI, RFQ, and platform development activities, ensuring timing and quality requirements are met.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Hardware, Manufacturing, Quality) in an international environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and development.
• Expertise in automotive electronic packaging, telematics, and waterproof electronic enclosure design.
• Proficiency in PTC Creo, CATIA, or Siemens NX, including surface and skeleton modeling.
• Knowledge of FEA and DFMEA/DRBFM techniques.
• Willingness to travel internationally and within the US (10-25%).

Nice to have

• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, ALMs, or JIRA.
• Experience in TS16949 compliant automotive environments.
