Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

TL;DR

Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS/K8s): Technical lead for AWS environment, CI/CD, and observability stack for the Guestfriend product with an accent on serverless architectures, GitOps, and event-driven systems. Focus on migrating legacy systems to services, implementing high-reliability infrastructure, and integrating AI-driven automation into the development lifecycle.

Location: Belgrade, Nis, Novi Sad, Serbia. Flexibility with remote work.

What you will do

• Act as the technical lead for the AWS environment, CI/CD machinery, and the observability stack.
• Set the technical direction for reliability and security while mentoring mid-level engineers.
• Build and manage infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Implement GitOps deployment strategies using ArgoCD and manage service-to-service backbones.
• Design and optimize event-driven SOA systems utilizing SNS/SQS and EventBridge.
• Use AI coding assistants (Claude, Cursor, Copilot) as primary tools for IaC and automation.

Requirements

• 7–10 years in DevOps/Platform/SRE roles, with at least 3–4 years on production-scale AWS.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS Lambda, ECS/Fargate, and EKS.
• Deep practice with Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps (ArgoCD).
• Proven experience with legacy-to-services migration and event-driven systems.
• Ability to read, debug, and write tooling in Go, TypeScript/Node, PHP, and Bash.
• Fluent English proficiency is required.

Nice to have

• Experience operating under ISO 27001 or SOC 2 controls and GDPR awareness.
