What you will do

• Lead design and hands-on implementation of distributed systems using Go and/or C++ for Kubernetes storage control planes.
• Own full SDLC for features, utilizing AI tools for specification-driven development in highly scalable environments.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring engineers, driving agile processes, and ensuring project delivery.
• Collaborate with leads, architects, and product management to resolve large-scale problems and manage dependencies.
• Troubleshoot production issues across storage control plane to vSAN data plane layers.
• Foster culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Location: USA-CA - Promontory C (onsite)
• 8+ years building highly scalable distributed systems.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering.
• Strong data structures, algorithms, systems design for scale, performance, concurrency.
• Experience with infrastructure orchestration (compute, networking, storage), Linux internals, container runtimes like containerd.
• Knowledge of Container Storage Interface (CSI), Persistent Volumes (PVs), PVCs.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate, and communicate clearly.

Nice to have

• Hands-on Kubernetes experience, control plane architecture, extending Kubernetes API, reconciliation loops.
