What you will do
- Lead the design and execution of complex data platform initiatives from architecture to production delivery.
- Provide technical leadership by guiding engineers on system design, development best practices, and incident response.
- Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, testing standards, and CI/CD practices.
- Mentor engineers across levels to support growth and alignment with career progression frameworks.
- Partner with product, analytics, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Own delivery outcomes for ambiguous or cross-functional initiatives.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, including technical leadership experience.
- Experience working with healthcare data (e.g., claims, EMR, clinical datasets).
- Proven track record of building and owning scalable data platforms or infrastructure.
- Proficiency with AWS and modern data tools including dbt, Airflow, Iceberg, EMR, Athena, and Kafka.
- Advanced Python and SQL skills with a focus on testing and observability.
- Deep expertise in system design and data modeling.
