WPE Social Worker

TL;DR

WPE Social Worker (GBV): Implementing women's protection and empowerment programs in the Benishangul Gumuz Region with an accent on GBV prevention and response. Focus on providing psychosocial support, case management, and facilitating wellness centers for women and girls.

What you will do

• Lead GBV prevention and response activities under the EHF 2025 project initiatives.
• Assess living conditions of women, girls, and boys in IDP/Returnee community centers to develop support strategies.
• Facilitate the involvement of adolescent girls and women in wellness centers and document progress.
• Identify GBV survivors and collaborate with community leaders to provide case management services.
• Organize and lead psychosocial support (PSS) activities at women and girls’ safe spaces (WGSS).
• Submit weekly and monthly reports to the WPE Officer on program activities.

Requirements

• Completed secondary education.
• Minimum one year of experience in a similar position.
• Good command of spoken and written English, Amharic, and Afaan Oromo.
• Familiarity with the local context of the project implementation areas.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a team with minimal supervision.
