Sr. Automation Engineer (Starlink Growth)

Location: Bastrop, TX. Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to comply with ITAR regulations.

SpaceX is developing the technologies to enable human life on Mars and operating Starlink, the world’s largest satellite constellation providing broadband internet globally.

What you will do

• Build and maintain high-quality automation to grow Starlink's customer base and launch new markets.
• Develop alerts and monitoring systems to ensure automation health and performance.
• Design and execute measurable, well-scoped experiments to unlock growth.
• Collaborate with engineering and business teams to migrate automation to website-integrated solutions.
• Manage stakeholders and provide quantitative and qualitative updates on automation performance to leadership.
• Write and maintain high-quality technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, etc.).
• 5+ years of experience in engineering, software, data analytics, or operations at a technology company.
• 4+ years of professional experience with Python.
• Must meet U.S. Government export regulations (ITAR).
• Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
• Willingness to travel to corporate customer sites and other SpaceX locations.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in SQL and understanding of database structures, query optimization, and ETL development.
• Experience with automation using VBA or C#.
• Experience in high-growth, fast-paced startup or consulting environments.
• Strong project management and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
