CICS Consultant (Mainframe)

TL;DR

CICS Consultant (Mainframe): Configuring and maintaining CICS systems across multiple environments with an accent on mission-critical application stability and performance optimization. Focus on customizing IBM/ISV software, resolving real-time system issues, and utilizing performance tools like CPSM and Omegamon.

Location: Hybrid - Must be based in Newark, NJ or New York, NY (office attendance 2 days a week)

Salary: $60-70/hr

What you will do

• Configure and maintain CICS system software across hundreds of regions in production, test, and QA environments.
• Customize IBM and ISV software products, including CPSM, Omegamon, and CICS exit code.
• Provide 24/7 problem determination support by analyzing traces, dumps, and logs to resolve critical issues.
• Apply performance management techniques to optimize response times in high-volume transaction applications.
• Manage changes and incidents in accordance with data center standards and collaborate with technical teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience supporting CICS environments.
• Deep professional experience within the securities, insurance, or mutual fund industries.
• Strong analytical skills for real-time problem determination in critical business environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent professional experience.
• Must be located in or able to commute to Newark, NJ or New York, NY for hybrid work.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Assembler and Rexx.
