What you will do

• Underwrite construction new business risks, applying strong technical judgement within delegated authority.
• Review and negotiate broker-generated quotes, effectively communicating product strengths to win business.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with a regional broker panel.
• Manage the end-to-end risk lifecycle from enquiry to outcome using internal underwriting platforms.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through CRM and pipeline management.
• Serve as a technical reference point and provide coaching to colleagues within the wider team.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Construction underwriting, including policies, portfolios, and/or binders.
• Experience working with a specialist broker panel (preferred).
• Strong communication skills for professional engagement via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
• Ability to manage independent workflows while collaborating effectively within a team.
• Commercial mindset with a drive to contribute to regional and national growth.
• Must be based in or able to work from Manchester, Leeds, or Birmingham
