Field Officer

TL;DR

Field Officer (Humanitarian): Executing census, registration, and follow-up activities for cash transfer programs in rural Ugandan villages with an accent on accurate data collection using digital tools, recipient education, and problem resolution. Focus on mobilizing communities, conducting household surveys, managing adverse events, and ensuring program integrity.

Location: Kaliro District, Uganda (field-based, onsite)

Salary: Ugx 2,600,400 monthly (Ugx 31,204,800 annually)

What you will do

• Conduct village barazas to explain the program and answer questions from communities.
• Visit every household for census surveys, ensuring complete coverage and accurate data entry via digital tools.
• Handle recipient registration, phone distribution, eligibility checks, and safety briefings.
• Perform follow-up surveys, hotline support, problem resolution for mobile money registration, and adverse event reporting.
• Collaborate with team members, village elders, and guides to execute field operations effectively.

Requirements

• Language: Lulamogi (mandatory) and Lugwere
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• At least 1 year experience in humanitarian sector and 1-2 years working with vulnerable communities
• Proficiency in computer and mobile data entry (CommCare, Salesforce, Google Suite)
• Empathy, honesty, integrity, patience, good judgment, and physical fitness for challenging terrain/weather
