What you will do
- Own end-to-end delivery of hardware automation programs, including zero-touch provisioning, firmware update pipelines, and automated validation.
- Translate high-level automation goals into structured project plans with clear milestones, dependencies, and success metrics.
- Coordinate across Hardware Automation, Infrastructure, data center operations, and network engineering teams to resolve dependencies.
- Manage operational safety through risk registers, staged rollout frameworks, and detailed failure mode analysis.
- Define and track outcome metrics such as manual operations hours eliminated and mean time to provision/remediate.
- Own the Hardware Automation team roadmap, prioritizing the backlog based on toil reduction and engineering complexity.
Requirements
- 5+ years of technical project or program management experience.
- 2+ years managing automation, platform engineering, or infrastructure tooling in a data center or cloud environment.
- Technical fluency in hardware and systems software (e.g., BMC, IPMI, PXE, firmware update mechanics).
- Demonstrated experience automating operational workflows and managing staged rollouts.
- Proficiency with project management tools like Jira, Linear, or Confluence.
- Must be authorized to work in the Netherlands.
Nice to have
- Previous background as a systems engineer, SRE, or infrastructure software engineer.
- Experience with Ironic, Tinkerbell, Redfish, or similar hardware automation domains.
- Familiarity with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Salt.
- Exposure to physical data center operations (rack and stack, cabling, power/cooling).
- Knowledge of observability platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
