What you will do

• Design and build backend services and APIs powering AI features
• Integrate and optimize LLMs including prompts, structured outputs, streaming, tool calling, and cost/latency tuning
• Design and build AI agents from single-purpose to multi-step tool-using systems with autonomy, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop
• Develop tools and integrations connecting agents to real systems safely
• Own model evaluation, drift monitoring, AI observability, and tracking quality/latency/cost/safety
• Champion AI governance, responsible AI, privacy, PII, access controls, and audit trails
• Collaborate with Data team on data, vector indexes, and embeddings; mentor engineers and consult with clients

Requirements

• Strong written and spoken English
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
• 5+ years backend engineering, 1–2 years shipping AI/LLM features in production
• Strong proficiency in modern backend language with async programming (e.g. Python)
• Working knowledge of relational and vector databases (e.g. pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant)
• Production experience with commercial LLM APIs (OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic) and RAG pipelines
• Shipped AI agents or tool-using LLM systems; LLM evaluation, drift detection, observability
• Awareness of AI governance, responsible AI, privacy, PII, versioning, auditability
• Familiarity with LLM orchestration (LangChain, LlamaIndex); strong API design fundamentals

• AI risk/compliance frameworks (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001)
