TL;DR

National AMR Technical Coordinator (Malawi): Coordinate AMR activities under TDDAP2 programme with an accent on technical oversight, stakeholder coordination, and sustainability of national systems. Focus on developing workplans, mitigating risks, reviewing deliverables, and building One Health capacity in partnership with government.

Location: Lilongwe, Malawi. Candidates must have the right to live and work in Malawi. Visa sponsorship will not be considered.

What you will do

  • Coordinate all in-country AMR work, ensuring timely delivery and high technical standards.
  • Provide technical oversight of partners and consultants, reviewing deliverables and offering mentoring.
  • Maintain relationships with national stakeholders and AMR governance bodies, adapting to emerging threats.
  • Develop Terms of Reference for technical assistance and support workplan refinement.
  • Contribute to reporting and represent the programme at meetings and events.

Requirements

  • Right to live and work in Malawi; no visa sponsorship.
  • Doctor of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, or degree in Public Health, Biological/Microbiology Sciences, Pharmacy or related to One Health/AMR.
  • Master’s degree or postgraduate experience in public health, epidemiology, or AMR.
  • At least 10 years in public health (ideally government), 5 years in Global Health Security/AMR.
  • Strong project management, technical assistance delivery, stakeholder networking, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in local languages.
