TL;DR

National AMR Technical Coordinator (Uganda): Coordinating AMR activities across TDDAP2 programme with an accent on strengthening governance, surveillance systems, laboratory capacity, and One Health approach. Focus on providing technical oversight to partners, ensuring timely delivery, and sustaining achievements beyond programme life.

Location: Kampala, Uganda. Candidates must have the right to live and work in Uganda. Visa sponsorship will not be considered.

What you will do

  • Coordinate all in-country AMR work, maintaining oversight of timelines and ensuring high technical standards.
  • Provide technical oversight for partners and consultants, reviewing deliverables and offering mentoring as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with national stakeholders and AMR governance bodies.
  • Support workplan development, risk mitigation, and reporting to FCDO with focus on achievements and lessons.
  • Represent TDDAP2 at meetings, events, and workshops, seeking collaboration opportunities.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, or degree in Public Health, Health/Biological/Laboratory Sciences, Microbiology, Pharmacy, or related to One Health/AMR.
  • Master’s degree or postgraduate experience in public health, epidemiology, biosciences, or AMR.
  • At least 10 years in public health (ideally with government/statutory bodies) and 5 years in Global Health Security/AMR.
  • Excellent project management, technical assistance delivery, stakeholder networking, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in local Ugandan languages.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and provide harmonised technical oversight.
