TL;DR

Product Reliability (Support) Engineer: Troubleshoot, analyze, and fix issues in applications and databases with an accent on creating unique solutions, scripting data updates, and handling customer requests. Focus on collaborating with departments, documenting issues, and coaching junior colleagues.

Location: Hybrid in Tokyo office (3 days in office / 2 days remote). Hulic Aoyama 2nd Building, Shibuya (10-min walk from Shibuya Station or 5-min from Omotesando Station).

hirify.global, a subsidiary of AEG, is a global ticketing platform selling millions of tickets yearly for 500+ partners across venues, leagues, and teams in North America, Europe, Asia, and more, expanding operations in Tokyo.

What you will do

  • Troubleshoot issues in applications and databases, creating unique solutions in response to customer requests.
  • Handle data requests for internal and external customers.
  • Create scripts to update or generate data as needed.
  • Collaborate with departments like finance, fraud, and security to resolve issues and data needs.
  • Create and update documentation for encountered issues.
  • Coach junior colleagues on techniques, processes, and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bilingual fluency in Japanese and English.
  • University degree in computer science or technology field preferred.
  • Experience with database query languages (SQL).
  • Experience with production database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools and best practices.
  • Experience coding in scripting languages (JavaScript, bash, Python) preferred.
  • Experience in programming languages (Java, .NET) and cloud environments preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure in production environments and in Tokyo office on hybrid basis.

  • Proficiency in identifying and diagnosing OS issues.
