What you will do
- Develop state-of-the-art optimization models for hydrogen production processes.
- Identify synergies and integration opportunities within hydrogen production plants and clusters.
- Minimize energy and resource consumption through efficient heat exchange and waste heat recovery.
- Assess and reduce environmental impacts, including greenhouse gas emissions and waste.
- Validate models using literature and consortium data via specific case studies.
Requirements
- PhD degree in science, engineering, or economics.
- Prior research experience in electrolysis-based plant modelling, techno-economic assessment, and heat management.
- Expertise in multi-objective optimization.
- Experience modelling the flexible operation of electrolysers and their interaction with the electricity grid.
- Very good written and spoken communication skills in English.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Nice to have
- Programming experience in Python, GAMS, or similar languages.
- Process modelling experience in Aspen Plus, gPROMS, or similar tools.
