TL;DR

Lead Piping Material Engineer (Oil & Gas): Leading piping material engineering activities for FEED and detailed design of onshore oil & gas projects with an accent on compliance with international standards and material selection based on process conditions. Focus on developing Piping Material Specifications (PMS), managing vendor technical bids, and coordinating multi-disciplinary design reviews.

What you will do

Lead and manage piping material engineering for FEED and detailed design onshore projects.
Develop and review piping material specifications (PMS), valve specifications, and datasheets.
Select piping materials based on corrosion, temperature, and pressure requirements.
Review vendor documents and technical bids, ensuring alignment with project standards.
Provide technical support to procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
Coordinate with process, piping layout, and stress disciplines to ensure design integrity.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
15+ years of experience in piping material engineering, specifically in FEED and Detailed Design.
Extensive experience in onshore oil & gas projects.
Location: Must be based in or be able to work onsite in Qatar.
Deep knowledge of international codes (ASME, ASTM, API, NACE, ISO).

Nice to have

Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
Experience with QatarEnergy or major EPC contractors.
Proficiency in SmartPlant Materials (SPMAT) and SAP.
Familiarity with 3D model tools such as E3D, SP3D, or PDMS.
