What you will do

• Monitor system health, respond to incidents, and conduct root cause analysis and remediation.
• Build and improve monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and KQL for deep system visibility.
• Collaborate with Developers and DevOps teams to manage highly available, scalable, and resilient Azure architectures.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and ARM templates to streamline service management.
• Partner with SecOps to enforce security policies and best practices across Azure infrastructure.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to provide support for critical systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Software Engineering role.
• Strong proficiency with Azure services (Web Applications, Functions, Application Gateways).
• Expertise in Azure observability tools, including App Insights, Log Analytics, and Logic Apps.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Must be based in Cape Town, South Africa.

Nice to have

• Experience with OpenTelemetry or vendor-neutral observability approaches.
• Familiarity with microservices or modular monolith architectures.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, or similar monitoring platforms.
• Exposure to performance or load testing practices.
