What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable Python packages for scientific modeling and engineering workflows.
• Propose and implement clean software architectures, including class hierarchies and abstraction layers.
• Contribute to the evolution of a proprietary Python toolchain and collaborate with modeling teams.
• Drive best practices in software engineering, including code quality, versioning, and documentation.
• Ensure high coding quality for scientific computing libraries.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computational Sciences.
• Strong expertise in Python 3, including object-oriented design and scalable package structures.
• Proficiency with numerical computing libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and pandas.
• Solid understanding of software development principles, including testing (pytest) and CI/CD.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Location: Must be based in or be able to work from the Vienna office.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with mathematical and statistical modeling (predictive modeling, optimization, ML, differential equations).
• Experience building or contributing to open-source Python libraries.
• Previous exposure to the biotechnology or biopharmaceutical sector.
