Business Analyst (Fintech)

TL;DR

Business Analyst (Fintech): Gathering and documenting functional requirements for a new web-based GUI for fixed income electronic trading platforms with an accent on translating product needs into user stories, wireframes, and specifications. Focus on collaborating with UX/UI designers and developers to define trading workflows, manage product backlogs, and support QA and change management.

What you will do

• Gather, analyse and document functional and non-functional requirements from technical product owners for the new web-based trading GUI.
• Translate requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, wireframes and functional specifications for development and QA teams.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers on trading workflows, screen layouts and user interactions.
• Work with team lead and developers to clarify requirements, assess feasibility and resolve ambiguities.
• Facilitate workshops, sprint planning and requirement reviews; maintain product backlog aligned with migration roadmap.
• Support QA in test scenarios and UAT; contribute to documentation and change management including training materials.

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a business analyst or functional analyst, ideally in financial markets, trading platforms or capital markets technology.
• Strong understanding of fixed income markets (bonds, repos, swaps) and electronic trading workflows highly desirable.
• Proven ability to elicit and document requirements using user stories, use cases, process flows or wireframes.
• Experience in agile environments (Scrum or Kanban) with backlog management and sprint ceremonies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills in English; proficiency in Jira, Confluence or similar.
• Familiarity with UX/UI design principles; ability to liaise with remote teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with order management, market data or trade lifecycle systems.
• Familiarity with data analysis, SQL or reporting tools.
• Knowledge of web application architecture (APIs, WebSockets).
• Familiarity with AI tools for requirements analysis or productivity.
