Director - Head of HW Delivery/Engineering (m/f/d) (Automotive)

Location: Ulm or Karlsbad, Baden-Württemberg, Germany; flexible work from the office and remotely, with up to 25% domestic and international travel

Salary: €138,550–€179,300 gross annual base salary

What you will do

• Lead and staff hardware and mechanical engineering teams supporting projects and products worldwide.
• Balance engineering resources across multiple projects and maintain long-term project and product support.
• Manage department budgets and relevant business case planning.
• Drive innovation, new technology adoption, patent creation, and industry-leading technical processes.
• Develop employee career growth and technical skills across the engineering organization.
• Support RFQ/RFI hardware and mechanical designs, bills of materials, customer meetings, and technical presentations while collaborating with engineering teams in Asia, North America, and other business units.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 15+ years of overall engineering leadership experience and 10+ years leading electrical or mechanical development teams.
• Hands-on experience with hardware and mechanical engineering activities across multiple projects.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple initiatives with tight deadlines.
• Experience developing hiring strategies and building high-quality distributed teams.
• Proven collaboration with Product Management on product strategy and roadmap delivery.
