Technical Writer

TL;DR

Technical Writer (Manufacturing): Create and maintain assembly-level manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, procedures, and visual guides with an accent on converting engineering input into clear, structured content. Focus on validating instructions with cross-functional teams, managing revisions, and ensuring compliance with standards.

Location: Onsite at Bayan Lepas / Bukit Minyak area, Mainland Penang, Malaysia. Local candidates only, no relocation or visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Update and maintain assembly documentation, work instructions, procedures, and visual guides.
• Convert engineering and manufacturing input into clear, structured documentation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, assemblers, and quality teams to validate instructions.
• Build and format documentation using Dozuki or similar EWI tools.
• Manage document revisions, version control, and engineering change processes.
• Identify documentation gaps and contribute to continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in technical writing, manufacturing documentation, or related role.
• Proven ability to create or revise assembly-level work instructions.
• Strong written and verbal skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Experience in manufacturing or electronics assembly environment.
• Familiarity with Dozuki or other documentation platforms (Confluence, SharePoint, etc.).

Nice to have

• Experience with EWI systems.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, and assembly workflows.
• Basic image editing or photo annotation skills.
