Junior Hardware Engineer (Automotive Audio)

TL;DR

Junior Hardware Engineer (Automotive Audio): Support development of automotive hardware platforms with a strong focus on audio amplifier systems used in In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) and domain-based cockpit architectures with an accent on design, bring-up, verification, and integration of audio hardware and A2B networking. Focus on schematic design, component selection, bench validation, and troubleshooting audio interfaces in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Location: Hybrid office setup in Bucharest, Romania according to local policies. Willingness to travel if necessary.

What you will do

• Perform schematic design and maintenance of audio amplifier hardware blocks including power supply, audio stages, interfaces, diagnostics, and protection circuits under senior guidance.
• Handle component selection, BOM creation/maintenance, and design documentation per automotive standards.
• Conduct hardware bring-up for new designs, audio amplifier integration (Class AB/D), and A2B network configuration/debugging.
• Execute bench-level validation, audio measurements, power behavior checks, and support EMC/thermal testing.
• Participate in root-cause analysis of hardware issues and collaborate with system, software, validation, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
• Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement of hardware solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or comparable field.
• First practical experience in electronics design, test, or validation (internships, thesis, projects).
• Basic understanding of analog/digital electronics, audio amplifier fundamentals, A2B, and power supply concepts.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generation).
• Basic experience with schematic capture tools (Mentor, Altium, etc.).
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Willingness to work in hybrid office in Bucharest, Romania, and global cross-functional environment.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Class D audio amplifiers, layout/EMI awareness.
• Experience with A2B or automotive audio networking.
• Understanding of automotive constraints (quality, EMC, documentation).
• Awareness of CAN, LIN, Ethernet interfaces.
