Consultant, Program Performance

TL;DR

Consultant, Program Performance: Supporting strategy coordination, strategic planning, and performance monitoring for the Ethiopia country program with an accent on program effectiveness, grant oversight, and systems optimization. Focus on integrating strategy into planning, maintaining dashboards, facilitating reviews, proposal development, and driving team process improvements.

Location: Based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; must be located in and have work authorization in Ethiopia

Salary: $1300 USD per month

What you will do

• Collaborate on packaging and disseminating the country strategy, integrating it into annual planning and leading strategy reviews.
• Maintain dashboards for program progress, performance, and risk; facilitate monthly OKR and quarterly performance reviews.
• Conduct costing analysis, monitor budgets, expenditures, and grant commitments.
• Support proposal development, grant management, and project setup.
• Lead high-quality proposals, donor decks, and strategic write-ups aligned with donor priorities.
• Liaise between Ethiopia program and global teams, providing project management for interdepartmental groups.
• Drive improvements in team structures, processes, and collaboration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (master’s preferred).
• Experience in fast-paced NGO, business, or government settings.
• Proven experience in performance improvement, project or operations management.
• Strong project and process management skills; ability to simplify processes.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Capable of managing multiple projects across teams, cultures, and time zones.
• Commitment to health, social justice, and gender equity.
• Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written skills.

Nice to have

• Formal training in project management.
• Experience in public health, management consulting, or public policy.
