TL;DR
SW Engineer, Telematics (IoT Automotive): Develop innovative software exposing internal car ecosystem to the Internet with an accent on telematics, 5G, and V2X. Focus on analyzing and debugging software implementations, collaborating with global teams and JOEM customers, and supporting software requirements and program execution.
Location: Ariake - Tokyo, Japan; Nagoya - Aichi, Japan (#LI-Hybrid, willing to travel up to 50% domestic or domestic/international)

What you will do
- Act as knowledge center for core software in Alliance Excellence Team, sharing experience across OEMs/projects.
- Collaborate with global teams to analyze, debug software issues with customers/Tier-2, and confirm fixes.
- Summarize and explain issues to global team and customers with fix proposals.
- Support creation of software requirements proposals and track progress of workshops/joint tests.
- Adjust planning with project schedules, communicate deviations, and prepare development environments in Japan.
- Capture internal/external requirements clearly for the product.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant IT specialization
- 3+ years as software developer with C/C++
- 3+ years working with global teams
- Experience developing embedded applications
- Knowledge of inter-process communication, threading, socket communication
- Fluent Japanese and business-level English
- Working knowledge of embedded OS and debugging with gdb
- Complete aptitude test; willing to travel up to 50%
