Staff Data Engineer (AdTech)

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate backend services and data pipelines supporting performance marketing and ad platform integrations.
• Drive the technical design and implementation of high-scale production systems.
• Manage the full development lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and production support.
• Proactively improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor and coach other engineers to elevate the team's engineering standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in backend or data engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Scala (preferred) or other JVM languages such as Java or Kotlin.
• Expertise in SQL and data processing frameworks like Spark and Kafka.
• Experience with asynchronous messaging systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Proven track record of driving architectural decisions and improving system reliability.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice to have

• Deep experience with Spark performance tuning and query plan optimization.
• Experience integrating with large-scale external APIs such as Google Ads or Meta.
• Familiarity with observability tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
• Strong knowledge of modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
