Design System Designer (UI/UX)

What you will do

• Design, refine, and maintain reusable UI components, patterns, design tokens, and guidelines.
• Ensure consistent experiences across Web, iOS, and Android while supporting accessibility and inclusive design aligned with WCAG standards.
• Work with engineers to maintain parity between design and code and partner with product, brand, and design teams on system adoption.
• Create documentation, usage examples, contribution processes, versioning standards, and change-management workflows.
• Lead workshops, training, onboarding, and product audits to reduce fragmentation and identify system-driven solutions.
• Explore AI tools for component design, audits, token generation, documentation, and design-development workflows.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience, primarily in design-system-focused roles.
• Portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, component design, and visual craft.
• Deep expertise in Figma, including variants, Auto Layout, tokens, and libraries.
• Experience working with front-end engineers and understanding accessibility, responsive design, and multi-platform workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain system logic clearly.
• English: B2 required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with React component libraries, CSS architecture, and design token pipelines.
• Experience building multi-brand or multi-platform design systems.
• Practical experience using AI tools to improve design efficiency and system scalability.
• Japanese at A2 level or business level, written and verbal.
