Senior UI/UX Designer (Gamedev)

TL;DR

Senior UI/UX Designer (Gamedev): Creating accessible and intuitive interfaces for the Total War franchise with an accent on interactive prototypes and high-fidelity mockups. Focus on iteratively designing new features, implementing UX patterns, and improving player immersion through data-driven design.

Location: Hybrid (Must be based in or be able to relocate to Horsham, UK). Expectation of 2 days per week in studio.

What you will do

• Collaborate with design, art, and programming teams to build UI features from research to implementation.
• Create interactive prototypes and high-fidelity mockups for new game features.
• Iterate on designs using user tests, surveys, and quantitative data.
• Develop high-quality assets and layouts adhering to visual style guides and UX patterns.
• Maintain technical documentation for developed features.
• Coordinate with outsource partners as needed.

Requirements

• Strong skills in wireframing, interaction design, prototyping, and informational hierarchy.
• Proficiency in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
• Solid understanding of UX methodologies applied to game design.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• Experience in visual design (typography, iconography, color theory).
• Portfolio is mandatory for application.

Nice to have

• Experience with game production pipelines or at least one shipped title.
• Proficiency in motion design.
• Deep understanding of the strategy genre and Total War games.
• Knowledge of user research methods.
