TL;DR

Senior Streaming Systems Engineer (Embedded Linux): Building native implementations of AirPlay, Google Cast, and Miracast on embedded hardware with an accent on reverse engineering undocumented protocols, codec support across profiles, and synchronization under real networks. Focus on full media pipeline from transport to rendering, pushing performance boundaries, and creating transferable architecture documentation.

Location: Remote in Europe, or hybrid from our Copenhagen office.

What you will do

• Build production-quality native protocol stack for AirPlay, Google Cast, and Miracast on embedded Linux hardware, replacing third-party dependency.
• Expand codec support (H.264, VP8, VP9, AV1, Opus, AAC), improve resolution, performance, latency, and synchronization in real-world conditions.
• Document protocol behaviors, architecture decisions, and edge cases for team maintainability.
• Contribute to Chromium-based browser, native firmware, or desktop applications as needed.

Requirements

• Experience reverse engineering or building receivers for wireless display protocols (AirPlay, Google Cast, Miracast) from packet captures.
• Full media pipeline expertise: network transport, codec negotiation, decoding, rendering, synchronization.
• C/C++ for embedded Linux environments, hardware interfaces, GPU-accelerated decoding.
• Knowledge of real-network streaming challenges: congested WiFi, variable latency, mixed ecosystems.
• Location: Remote in Europe or hybrid Copenhagen.
