TL;DR

Location: Sudanese Territory, Sudan (based in Kamuleila with regular travel to field sites)

What you will do

  • Coordinate EH/WASH program implementation, developing work plans aligned with strategic action plans and donor requirements.
  • Lead technical design, cost estimates, and documentation for infrastructure, hygiene promotion, and community engagement activities.
  • Manage partnerships with local implementing partners, providing technical guidance and capacity building.
  • Direct emergency responses to displacements or outbreaks like cholera, scaling up water treatment and sanitation.
  • Develop proposals, budgets, reports, and monitoring systems to ensure program quality and effectiveness.
  • Represent IRC in sector meetings, coordinate with NGOs and ministries, and mentor regional WASH staff.

Requirements

  • University degree in civil/environmental engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in EH/WASH or civil engineering, including 3 years in humanitarian settings.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical design of water supply, sanitation, wastewater, and health care waste systems.
  • Strong project planning, leadership, communication skills; proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office.
  • Good written and verbal English skills; ability to work independently in complex environments with high cultural sensitivity.
