TL;DR
Data Technician II (GTFS/Transit): Overseeing customer onboarding, configuration, and training for public transit SaaS platform with an accent on GTFS data management, validation, and integration. Focus on delivering customized technical solutions, troubleshooting complex data issues, and collaborating with transit agencies and third-party vendors to ensure accurate data representation.
Ideally located in the Querétaro region of Mexico. Assigned to office in Querétaro. Must have ability to travel internationally to meet team members primarily based in North America if needed.

What you will do
- Manage customer onboarding, configuration, training, and escalations while ensuring projects stay within time and budget.
- Provide technical advice, develop customized solutions, and lead implementation/integration of products into client systems.
- Deliver GTFS data services including creation, maintenance, validation, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Act as liaison with agencies, third-party apps (Google, Apple, Transit, Moovit), and vendors for data accuracy and feeds.
- Serve as voice of the customer, influence product improvements, log needs, and update documentation.
- Mentor junior team members, improve data workflows, and develop best practices and knowledge base.
Requirements
- Proficient in professional English
- 2+ years experience with data specs or codified formats (strong preference for GTFS)
- Intermediate proficiency in table-based software (MS Excel, Google Sheets, SQL)
- 2+ years experience with transit scheduling, planning software, or GIS (transit-focused preferred)
- 2+ years experience with customer support ticketing software
- Bachelor's degree in related field or comparable experience
- Passion for public transportation and/or open data
Nice to have
- Experience working within or consulting for transit agencies
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Atlassian (Jira/Confluence), Zendesk, GitHub, QGIS, Python
