Senior IT Cybersecurity Engineer (Cloud)

Senior IT Cybersecurity Engineer (Cybersecurity): Owning and driving the cybersecurity program across corporate and product-facing environments with an accent on security operations, vulnerability management, and GRC. Location: Hybrid in La Paz, Bolivia, or remote from other cities in Bolivia or LATAM

What you will do

• Own the company’s cybersecurity strategy, priorities, and overall security posture improvements.
• Lead security operations across cloud/SaaS and corporate environments, including alert triage, investigation, and response.
• Define and run the vulnerability management program, establishing scanning, prioritization, and remediation SLAs.
• Partner with Engineering and DevOps to embed security into the delivery pipeline via secure SDLC and threat modeling.
• Maintain and evolve compliance and privacy programs, specifically ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and SOC 2.
• Manage risk activities, including vendor security reviews and customer security questionnaires.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, or GRC for cloud/SaaS environments.
• Proven ownership of a cybersecurity program, including incident response and vulnerability management.
• Hands-on experience supporting and operating controls for ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and SOC 2.
• Experience collaborating with engineering or DevOps teams in a cloud-native environment.
• English professional proficiency for audits, policy creation, and cross-functional communication.
• Must be based in Bolivia or the LATAM region.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of scripting (Python, Bash) and APIs.
• Ability to support the adoption of frameworks like HIPAA or PCI.
• Industry certifications such as Security+, CISSP/SSCP, ISO 27001, or cloud security certifications.
