Manager, Autonomy Systems Validation (Autonomous Vehicles): Lead a team validating key features and subsystems of the automated driving stack, defining operational boundaries, behaviors in various conditions, and ensuring safe product envelope with an accent on requirements, validation frameworks, and data-backed evidence. Focus on designing multi-environment test strategies, integrating validation into workflows, and championing scalable processes for system-level validation.

Hybrid: Expected to report to Milford, Michigan or Sunnyvale, California at least 3 times a week.

Salary: $189,300 - $290,700

What you will do

• Lead team defining autonomy boundaries, behaviors in normal/edge cases, and translating into requirements and validation plans.
• Own feature/subsystem requirements and strategies for system state management, ODD entry/exit, collision response.
• Build validation frameworks across simulation, HIL/bench, closed course, on-road testing.
• Define metrics and acceptance criteria tied to requirements and safety goals.
• Partner with safety, AI, simulation, platform, product teams to integrate validation into decisions and safety case.
• Hire, mentor engineers; foster high-performance culture; represent work in reviews.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, Physics, CS, Data Science or related.
• 10+ years in systems engineering, robotics, validation, data/statistical analysis.
• 2+ years leading engineers in management or technical leadership.
• Strong systems engineering: decomposition, interfaces, traceability.
• Design/review multi-environment test strategies (simulation, HIL, closed course, on-road).
• Proficiency in Python/SQL, dashboards, test scripting; excellent communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with AV/ADAS development, ODD validation, critical scenarios.
• Hands-on robotics simulation correlating to physical testing.
• Requirements/test management tools, hazard/safety analysis (FMEA, STPA).
• Track record scaling teams; proficient SQL/Python/C++; AI tools.
