What you will do
- Lead design, implementation, and optimization of distributed data architectures for batch and streaming pipelines.
- Ensure scalability, security, performance (99.9%+ availability), and cost-efficiency of data infrastructure.
- Mentor team of 2 data engineers, set code quality standards, oversee execution, and promote CI/CD & DataOps best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and analytics teams to align data needs with business objectives.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, automated data quality testing, and GDPR compliance.
- Identify emerging tech opportunities and champion Generative AI tools for productivity.
Requirements
- 6+ years in Data Engineering, 2+ years in leadership role in fast-paced environments.
- Expert in distributed data systems, clustering, materialized views, table optimization.
- Solid skills in Python, Golang, Scala/Java; deep Kafka expertise for streaming/batch pipelines.
- Hands-on with on-premise Kubernetes infrastructure, Prometheus monitoring, column-oriented and vector databases (e.g. Qdrant), SQL/NoSQL.
- Experience with CI/CD, DataOps, project tools like Flyspray.

- Hands-on experience with Generative AI tools in engineering workflows.
