PostgreSQL Database Support Engineer (PostgreSQL)

PostgreSQL Database Support Engineer (PostgreSQL): Helping customers' DBA teams with expert assistance on complex issues by gathering data, investigating problems, and providing detailed analysis via email, IM, voice, or screen-sharing. Location: Remote (must be based in the Americas time zone), can be located anywhere in the world with stable internet. Availability to travel for occasional team meetings, conferences, or customer visits.

What you will do

• Assist customers' DBA teams with expert troubleshooting of production issues via analysis, screen-sharing, and resolution guidance.
• Author blog posts, forum answers, knowledge base articles, and host webinars on database topics.
• Collaborate with top database experts to improve customer infrastructures and identify optimization opportunities.
• Handle high-load, complex database behaviors in diverse technical environments.

Requirements

• Good hands-on knowledge of PostgreSQL, its tools, and contrib modules.
• Skilled in PostgreSQL ecosystem, performance tuning, query/index optimization.
• Experience with backups (pg_basebackup, pgBackRest, WAL-G), PITR, high availability (replication, proxies), zero-downtime procedures.
• Understanding of monitoring, Linux administration, methodical troubleshooting.
• Experience working with customers in English.
• Americas time zone; self-motivated learner with travel availability.

Nice to have

• MySQL knowledge, Kubernetes, cloud services (AWS, RDS, Azure, GCP).
• Patroni/Repmgr/Stolon, PMM, Ansible/Puppet/Chef, advanced SQL (window functions, CTEs).
• Open source contributions, SLA operations, advanced Linux tools (gdb, perf, etc.), C programming.
