What you will do
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, overseeing project execution and professional development.
- Architect and implement clean, maintainable Python code using software development best practices and Git.
- Deploy and monitor machine learning projects in production, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Translate business challenges into data science frameworks and project plans using advanced statistical and machine learning methods.
- Present quantitative findings and the value of data science solutions to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Identify data-driven opportunities and foster parallel, collaborative delivery for clients.
Requirements
- High proficiency in Python and a strong focus on clean, efficient, maintainable code.
- Practical knowledge of software development principles, collaborative coding, and Git-based version control.
- Strong foundations in mathematics, statistics, and machine learning theory, including the ability to implement techniques from academic literature.
- Creative and analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to propose innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for explaining complex quantitative findings to diverse audiences.
- Passion for leadership, mentoring, and developing junior data science talent.
Nice to have
- Experience in data science with a track record of leading projects or mentoring team members.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, particularly Databricks.
- Client-facing or consulting experience.
- A portfolio of data science projects or contributions to open-source libraries.
