Senior DevOps Engineer

TL;DR

What you will do

• Develop and maintain monitoring and observability frameworks for system performance and early issue detection.
• Design, maintain, and improve cloud infrastructure using DevOps practices.
• Own incident management processes including on-call, postmortems, SLOs, and error budgets.
• Manage web servers, relational databases, and Linux-based systems.
• Utilize Docker for containerization and orchestrate with Kubernetes or AWS ECS.
• Build scalable and secure solutions with AWS services.
• Collaborate with Engineering, QA, and Security teams to streamline workflows and deployments.
• Implement security best practices, access management, and foster DevSecOps culture.

Requirements

• Work remotely from anywhere in Switzerland or onsite in St. Gallen office.
• 5+ years in DevOps, Platform, or Systems Engineer role, ideally in SaaS.
• Experience with web servers (Nginx), relational databases (MySQL with replication/tuning), and Linux (Amazon Linux/CentOS/RedHat).
• Docker containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes or AWS ECS).
• AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Cloudfront, OpenSearch).
• Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Monitoring tools (Datadog, Grafana), SRE principles (SLOs, error budgets), incident management.
• Security practices (IAM, data protection, GDPR/ISO compliance).
• Fluent English.
• Comfortable in fast-paced, distributed teams.
